Battleground Parks District – Phase 1

Lindsey Architecture led the design team for Phase 1 of the Battleground Parks District project. This unique project brings together the Greensboro Science Center, City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation, and multiple other stakeholders with the goal of creating a catalyst for the overall re-branding of several separate entities into the Battleground Parks District. The Phase 1 project is anchored by the Greensboro Rotary Carousel and adjacent to the Greensboro Science Center Zoo Expansion. The project features a pedestrian promenade with flexible vendor spaces, revitalization of the existing lake, boardwalks, and outdoor education center adjacent to the lake, interactive activities highlighting the Revolutionary War history unique to the site, shelters, and multiple support buildings.
